If your visa has been refused, cancelled or your sponsorship application has been subject to refusal then you have an option of making an appeal to the AAT (Administrative Appeals Tribunal.)The role of the tribunal is to review the Department’s decision for refusing / cancelling your application and to review if the Department’s decision was correct. Request for Further Information (DoHA)
When you apply for a visa to the Department of Home Affairs by submitting an application along with supporting documents, you may receive a request from the Department of Home Affairs through the Case Officer (Decision Maker) requesting you for further information in support of your application within a tight timeframe. Ministerial Intervention
The Minister has powers that allow him to intervene to replace a review tribunal’s decision on a person’s case with a decision that is more favorable to that person when the Minister thinks it is in the public interest to do so.
