The Australian Government is considering offers of temporary humanitarian stay for Iranian nationals currently in Australia who cannot return home due to the Middle East conflict. This visa cannot be applied directly, it is offered by invitation only.
To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be currently in Australia
- Be an Iranian national, or the immediate family member of an Iranian national
- Be unable to return to their usual place of residence, with no right to reside in another country
- Have a visa that has ceased, or will cease within the next three months
- Have no visa application currently in progress or under merits review
- Have no other visa options available (see the Department’s visa finder tool)
Registering interest does not guarantee an offer will be made, and all standard health, character and security requirements must still be met.
