The subclass 489 visa requires applicants to live and work in a regional area of Australia. The points-based system assesses skilled workers on factors such as age, work experience, English language ability, and qualifications. 

Applicants must score at least 60 points to be eligible for a skilled migration visa.

How do I apply for a skilled migration visa in Australia?

Australia skilled migration visas are permanent residence visas for people with skilled occupations who want to work and live in Australia.

Applicants for skilled migration visas must first have their skills assessed by the relevant assessing authority as suitable for their skilled occupation. You must also meet the points test pass mark of 65 points. 

Once you have received a positive skilled migration assessment and met the points test pass mark, you can submit an expression of interest (EOI) through SkillSelect. 

If you are invited to apply for a visa, you will have 60 days to lodge a complete application, including all required documentation. 

For most skilled migration visas, applicants must be under 45 years of age, be competent in English and meet health and character requirements.
